Capital Projects Happening Now

Our ladder truck is undergoing significant upgrades. Due to the substantial cost of a new replacement, estimated at $1.9 million, we have collaborated with borough officials to refurbish our 2008 Sutphen SP95. This vehicle has provided reliable service to our department, residents, and mutual aid departments for 18 years, notable for being the last pre-emissions truck of its kind. The truck is currently at the Sutphen Corporation facility, where it will receive comprehensive upgrades, including but not limited to: body work, paint, new pump components, seating, lighting, hydraulic system replacements as needed, tires, brakes, shocks, air bags, and air lines. Following these upgrades, the truck will be shipped to Penn Detroit/Allison for an in-frame overhaul of the engine and transmission. We anticipate extending the truck's service life by 10 to 15 years upon its return, achieving a cost savings of approximately $1.4 million for the borough and its taxpayers compared to purchasing a new truck.
We appreciate the support from our mutual aid departments in providing aerial device services during the truck's absence. We expect its return this fall.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make our recent Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) purchase possible.
First and foremost, we are deeply thankful for the generous $150,000 donation from the Estate of Phil St. Moritz. In recognition of this incredible gift and lasting support, we are proud to dedicate and rename our meeting space at 301 Station #1 to the Phil St. Moritz Memorial Meeting Room. His memory and legacy will continue to support our members and mission for years to come.
St. Moritz Building Services
In addition, we would like to thank our community, supporters, and volunteers who contributed through our fundraising efforts. Your generosity and commitment played an essential role in helping us fund the purchase of our equipment.
These Drager AirBoss SCBAs will serve the Whitehall Fire Company for many years to come. This critical piece of equipment directly enhances the safety of our firefighters and the community we serve. A big thank you to Howell Rescue Systems for their continued partnership with us.
This project is a true example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together. Because of you, our members are better protected as they respond to emergencies every day.
Thank you again for your continued support.
